Nicht viel, jedenfalls nicht auf musikalischem Gebiet. Mein wahres (Berufs-) Leben hat mich eingeholt und mich im ersten Halbjahr ziemlich in Anspruch genommen, so dass kaum Zeit blieb für die Musik. Ich habe dabei leider auch feststellen müssen, dass ich mittlerweile ziemlich eingerostet bin. Neulich habe ich nach langer Zeit mal wieder meine Hagstrom (Stromgitarre) zur Hand genommen und gemerkt, dass ich schon mal geschmeidiger unterwegs war. Das kommt davon, wenn man nicht üben tut!</div> <div> </div> <div>Es gibt inzwischen 5 oder 6 neue Songs oder Songfragmente. Teilweise gitb es nur ein Gitarrenriff, aber ein Song ist eigentlich fertig, und ein zweiter ist so gut wie komplett. Die restlichen 3-4 sind noch relativ unvollständig, aber das beunruhigt mich erstmal nicht. Auch "Too late" schlummerte zunächst ca. 1 Jahr als reine Bassline auf meinem Rechner, bis ich irgendwann die Idee für den restlichen Song hatte.</div> <div> </div> <div>Ich werde in den kommenden Wochen also wieder etwas aktiver werden und dann hoffentlich auch wieder mehr Output haben. Eins ist aber heute schon klar: Zu Weihnachten wird es noch keine neue Planet Crown-CD geben. Whereas I know that you have more important things to do but to long for my next newsletter.</div> <div> </div> <div>What has happened lately? Not much, at least not on the musical field. My real (professional) life has caught up with me and monopolized me in the first six months so that hardly time remained for my music. Unfortunately, I also had to notice that I have rusted up quite by now. Recently I grabbed my Hagstrom (Guitar) and noticed that my playing had seen better days. But that happens when you neglect practicing.</div> <div> </div> <div>Meanwhile, there are 5 or 6 new songs or song fragments. Sometimes it's just a guitar riff, but one song is actually finished and a second one is as good as complete. The remaining 3-4 are relatively incomplete but that doesn't worry me too much. "Too late" slumbered on my computer for approx. 1 year as a pure bass line, until I had the idea for the complete song.</div> <div><br />So I will get a little more active and hopefully generate more output again within the next weeks. Today, however one thing is already clear: This year, there will be no new Plant Crown-CD at Christmas. Natürlich war ich auch in der Zwischenzeit nicht untätig. Es gibt schon wieder mehrere Songideen, die in mein nächstes Album einfließen werden, eine davon hat bereits ziemlich konkrete Formen angenommen. Ich habe auch schon eine Idee für ein Thema, um das sich die nächste CD drehen wird, aber da bin ich noch nicht so sicher, das ändert sich vielleicht noch. Beim letzten Mal haben immerhin 2 Jahre zwischen den Alben gelegen, in der Zeit kann eine Menge passieren.</div> <div> </div> <div>Ganz besonders gefreut hat mich, wir "Dignity" bei Euch angekommen ist. Das ist ja der erste Song, den ich bei Foren wie besonic oder track 4 reingestellt habe. Ich habe mich sehr über das Feedback, das direkt von Euch gekommen ist, gefreut. Nutzt hierfür gern auch das Gästebuch, das lese ich regelmäßig, obwohl da seit August 2008 niemand mehr was reingeschrieben hat. </div> <div>Aber "Dignity" hat noch andere Erfolge gefeiert: Bei track 4 hatte der Song es in den Euro Charts bis auf Platz 5 geschafft. Of course, I was not lazy in the meantime. There are several ideas for new songs which might appear on my next album, one is even rather concrete. I also have an idea for a general theme of the next CD. But I am not too shure yet about it, as last time it took almost 2 years from one album to the next and in that period of time, a lot of things can happen.</div> <div> </div> <div>I was very pleased about the success of "Dignity" which was the first song I released on platforms like besonic or track 4. Not only that I appreciated the direct feedback from you a lot (feel free to use the guestbook!), the song also reached No. 5 in the track 4 Euro-Charts.
